Overview
Sharing physical key between relatives and friends become an hassle .Knowing whether door is closed or not is another big problem. A mobile app for home security system in which virtual keys can be shared between the users(friend ,relatives) .
Objectives
- Analyse the pain points in using physical keys and locks.
- Make an efficient solution to solve this real life problem.
Synthesis
I have met some real users, working class peoples who are fed up with hiding their physical keys inside flower pots, and inside the mat.I asked them about conventional type key exchanging and understood the pain points.
Persona
Empathy Mapping-Elock
After analysing the pain points and interviews with real people i have gone for an Empathy Mapping.Since the users may of be children,older peoples.I have made an user persona which covers all category of users.
Primary features
- Locking/ unlocking: Lock, unlock or check status from smartphone.
- Share Keys: Share virtual keys with friends and family.
Types of Keys:
- One time Access Key
- Restricted Recurring Key(restricted to particular time every day, restricted to particular days of the week )
- Unrestricted keys(can always access).
- Key Management: Manage keys issued by user and guest key received by user along with restriction details and lock details.
- Revoke or Change access restrictions of issued keys anytime from anywhere.
Wireframes
Based on the UI sketches made with pen and paper i have gone for some wireframes, which helped me to know the screen size and alignment of different UI elements in the screens.

Conclusion
As an UX enthusiast it was a great experience to tackle down real life problems.Technology has grown faster and its really happy to see that real life hard problems are made simpler.Thank god ,without innovation life will not be the same.
